Marantz optimized the mechanisms and power supply, and focused on premium digital-to-analog conversion with the CS4398, ensuring a symmetrical mirrored output stage with Marantz’s own HDAM-SA2 amplifiers.

After all this, Marantz meticulously reviewed and adjusted everything with selected components. Marantz also added a solid metal bottom plate and centralized the CD mechanism’s placement, eliminating all vibrations. An oversized power supply allows the CS4398 analog-to-digital converter and the HDAM-SA2 circuit, Marantz’s own small signal amplifier, to fully express their qualities up to the gold-plated Cinch terminals.
